The following areas lists two-year fire related degree programs. The typical degree offered by most institutions in this category is the Fire Science, Associates of Applied Science degree.
The vast majority of degree programs offered at this level are local programs delivered by community colleges or vocational institutions. This list contains programs that result in the award of a regionally accredited degree unless otherwise noted. However, it should be noted that many institutions also offer certificate programs in fire science but may not be listed here unless they also offer a degree program. Also, see my note on accreditation.
Distance learning programs are two-year fire related degree programs offered through alternative delivery methods such as video, computer, or correspondence. Currently there are few degree programs offered at this level through distance learning methods.
